Jaylon K. Sims graduated with Eastern Michigan University (EMU) with a Bachelor's of Music Education (Voice). Mr. Sims studied voice with Dr. Robert Peavler and choral methods with Dr. Brandon Johnson. During his time at Eastern Michigan University, Mr. Sims earned many honors including the Scholar of Excellence in Education Music award for work in the field of Music Education. Mr. Sims is an alumnus of the Eastern Michigan University Honors College.

For four years, Mr. Sims was a member of the Eastern Michigan University Chamber Choir, the auditioned vocal ensemble at EMU. In Winter 2015 at the Pease Audition Centennial Celebration, Mr. Sims conducted the Eastern Michigan University Chamber Choir, performing René Clausen's Deep River.



Also during his time at Eastern Michigan University, Mr. Sims completed many composition honors projects toward the fulfillment of graduating from the EMU Honors College. Mr. Sims has written and arranged pieces for voice. He has written a piece of orchestra as well.

Mr. Sims's previous jobs in the field of music include long-term music substitute teacher in Ypsilanti, MI, Bass Section Leader for Bethlehem United Church of Christ Ann Arbor, MI,
Music Director for Church of the Good Shepherd in Ann Arbor, Michigan, General Music Education Teacher at Whitmore Lake Elementary, and Director of Choral Activities for Oxford High School, Oxford, CT.

Mr. Sims is currently the Director of Bands and Choirs at Allen Park High School in Allen Park, MI and the Virtual Bass Section Leader for St. Mark's Episcopal Church in New Canaan, CT.
